Experience

I began my career as a counsellor for Childline, before working as a counsellor with young people in four schools. I then served in two private hospitals, working in outpatient wards, followed by roles as a forensic and addiction counsellor in three prisons.

Later, I joined a primary-care mental health service where I served as a therapist, perinatal mental health lead, safeguarding lead, and ultimately as service lead/manager. I have also worked in secondary-care adult mental health services and in a complex interface clinic, supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health challenges, including complex trauma and personality disorders.

For the past 18 years I have worked within both the NHS and private practice. I am currently employed by the NHS as a Trauma Therapist for Essex Police.

Special Interests

I have particular expertise in working with:

•           PTSD and complex PTSD

•           Personality disorders

•           Disordered eating

•           Perinatal difficulties (including postnatal depression, anxiety, and birth trauma)
